Forestry mulching grinds vegetation in place without disturbing the soil as much as bulldozing, and eliminates the need for burn piles or hauling debris away, leaving behind a natural layer of mulch. Bulldozing makes sense when grading or dirtwork is already planned — because the subsequent dirtwork cleans up the mess. In every other scenario, mulching gives you a cleaner result with less disruption to the land.
The exact size depends on the tree species, density of vegetation, and site conditions. In general, most trees can be mulched — larger trees simply take more time. It's usually more of a time and efficiency factor than a hard limitation of the equipment itself.
